The Lying Neck Rotation exercise is aiming to improve the range of movement of the neck, specifically in looking left and right.
In lying with your neck supported simply look over your left shoulder and then your right shoulder in a slow and controlled manner. You can use a pillow to support your head, but make sure it isn’t too big or it may have your head in an uncomfortable position. Using a large book can be helpful as your head will slide easier than it would on a pillow.
Aim to complete the reps and sets as suggested in your rehab programme.
If this exercise is too easy, you may find the Standing Neck Rotation exercise more suitable. A video of this exercise is available on our channel.
