This exercise is ankle circumduction, or simply moving your ankle in circles. The aim is to improve your ankle mobility.
You can complete this exercise in laying or simply sitting on a chair. Your aim is to move your ankle in big circles as far as it is comfortable to do so. Make sure you go in both directions as one way may be easier than the other.
Follow the advice for the reps or duration that is in your rehabilitation report. Generally this exercise can be completed little and often throughout the day and should not be painful.
To make the exercise harder try and increase the size of the circle, or to make it easier reduce the size of the circle or the duration of performing the exercise.
